More Summer Inspiration
Now that it is officially summer, I thought I would share more summer inspiration with these luau pictures from a recent event at a local school's last day. The thoughtful principal provided her staff with a dessert buffet including pina colada cake pops, white chocolate macadamia cookies, dipped nutter butters decorated like flip flops and bright cupcakes.

Blinged Out Bridal Shower
The bride wanted purple and bling, I think I delivered.

I have always wanted to try to make a champagne cake and I thought a bridal shower would be the perfect opportunity. I decided to to make champagne cake pops and the bride to be loved them. She has even requested them for her wedding! I simply replaced the water in the white cake batter with champagne. With the extra champagne I made an orange cake. Mimosa cake pops anyone?

Happy Valentine's Day
I received an email from my husband's friend who wanted a special Valentine gift for his wife. He told me she loves peanut butter cups so they were my inspiration. I immediately thought of peanut butter and chocolate cake balls. The cake is German chocolate with crushed peanut butter cups baked inside, the icing is chocolate, also with crushed peanut butter cups and the coating is peanut butter flavored candy melts. I used a fondant cutter to make the cut-outs and heart impressions in the peanut butter cups. To my delight, the recipient loved her gift. Happy Valentine's Day all.

Headed to the Coast
My mother-in-law requested lemon cake balls to take with her on her trip to see her sister in Hilton Head, South Carolina. I guess they probably have enough shells out there already but I thought I would add a few more to the population. Click here to find out how to make the sand dollars and shells out of candy clay.

I guess I should have posted this during the summer when these were actually made, but the need of a warm fire on this cold night prompted me to post it now, so here are some ideas for "fireplace s'mores." At least I have this posted before the first snow.

Happy 97th Birthday Grandma
For the past 17 years or so we have been trying to get together to celebrate my grandmother's birthday. Every year it seems to get a little bigger. This year the family took my grandmother to church and after had a light lunch at my parent's home. I was in charge of the dessert buffet. The menu included brownie bites, raspberry cheesecake bites, and my mom's lemon cake bars. Happy 97th Grandma! I better start planning for next year.

Where are you Summer?
It has been so unseasonably cool here that when a co-worker asked me to come up with something for her to take to a bbq I thought it needed to be something that tasted like summer since it didn't feel like summer. Her only request was she wanted them to be hand held and she wanted to use umbrellas. One trip to a supercenter and I was set
